Rob Madigan, CEO
|
In 1990, Rob Madigan founded the fledgling company that has since grown into the multimillion dollar business that is Teligence. But 1990 was by no means the start of this man's desire to leave his mark. He excelled while at university, completing his Honors Degree in Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University School of Business in 1987. One of his co-op work terms took him to Belfast, Northern Ireland, with the accounting firm Deloitte Haskins & Sells. Upon returning to Canada, Rob took a brand manager position in the packaged goods industry with Robin Hood Multi Foods, before joining a Toronto-based start-up company in the Interactive Voice Response business. Under the mantra of "Go west young man and make your fortune," Rob moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1990, establishing the first chatline business in western Canada. Then, like so many young Canadians, he travelled, spending six months in India, an experience he still recalls with passion. Among his many accolades, Rob was awarded the Wilfrid Laurier 75th Anniversary Award for Continued Outstanding Contribution to Life at Laurier. In 2001, he was a recipient of the prestigious Business in Vancouver's Forty Under Forty Award. Rob, and his wife Trish, have two children, a son and a daughter. |
